Agencies and Test Shoots and Websites—OH MY!
What a wild few weeks it’s been — I can finally feel the wheels turning on my career, and let me tell you, it’s about time.
If you're new here, hi! I’m Meg — actress, model, and your behind-the-scenes bestie in this wild world of entertainment. I created The Glow Up Year to give you an honest, real-time look at what it takes to chase big dreams without losing your mind (or your spark). This entry is packed with updates: agents, test shoots, website wins, and a little manifestation magic. Let’s get into it.
A Win to Start Us Off
The Model Workshop featured me on their Instagram (cue screaming).
They chose one of my denim-on-denim shots, and reading my testimonial next to it gave me all the feels.
If you haven’t checked out their page yet, give @modelworkshopboston a look. They’re the real deal.

Submitting to Agencies
I sent my updated photos to three agencies across New England… and heard back from all three. ALL THREE. One is starting their process (which takes months), one meeting is booked for next month, and the third? We met. I’ve got the full download for you below — but spoiler: they offered me a contract.
Agency Meeting Prep
Before any meeting, I go full detective mode. I check out their social media, their website, and see who they represent. Do they have talent who look like me? What kind of work are they booking? For Agency A (I’m keeping it confidential so I can give you my honest take of each agency meeting), I noticed broken links on their site (yikes), but I kept an open mind.
I prepped questions like:
Are you exclusive?
What’s your market focus? Acting, modeling?
Do you book union or non-union?
And I made sure to memorize my measurements, review my portfolio, and prepped some fun facts about myself (like my love of paddleboarding) — little things that help you stand out.
How My Meeting Went
It was a solid hour and a half conversation (yikes, that’s looonnnggg). I’ll be real — I was a bit tired from the drive, and I asked a few questions that maybe jumped the gun, but overall the vibe was positive. Boutique agencies can be amazing because they represent fewer people and you get more focused attention. I followed up, and 10 days later, I got the contract offer. I’m so excited! I’m giving it a year to see how it goes.

Test Shoot Magic
Then came a test shoot with Chelsea Bradway. She had us doing this creative, female-empowerment concept with road signs over our faces — so cool. In return, we got headshots (bless). I started in a red dress and pumps, moved to an orange and denim combo, and finished in a black dress with a jacket so good I bought it immediately. Chelsea and stylist Brooke Kanal were a dream to work with — kind, collaborative, and full of great energy.
Website Glow-Up
And after months (okay, years) of procrastinating, my actor website is finally happening! I’ve been obsessed with designer RuthAnn’s work at R ArtSpace, and we just found a payment plan that works. She gets fairly compensated, and I get a site I’m proud of — win-win.
Ummm and because we are in the matrix, you have a sneak peak of the final product.
